All of a sudden I cannot reply to a posting, neither with "reply" nor "reply with quote".
It worked 10 minutes ago but now...

I get this message:

"Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /newreply.php on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

I logged off and then back on again, but no.

Possibly just a glitch in the system, try rebooting your computer Jesper!

I just did and it's still the same. Strange.

:specs:

No trouble replying to your message. Could it be something with that particular thread?
It's in "Latest acquisitions", the one about Simon's Danish stack.

Play around with the wording of your post, Jesper. Certain words are blacklisted and you'll get that error if you use them. I ran into the same thing when I tried to use the word, "p-o-k-e-r" (without the hyphens, of course).

I never use foul language.

This is ridiculous... Do they really blacklist certain words.?
This is a nice forum, so that really shouldn't be necessary.
I have used that p-word in an earlier post; no trouble.

Now it works. I didn't use the p-word in the original text,
but the photo was called 'P****s, so I renamed it.
Good grief.

I just conducted an experiment. Wrote the dreaded p-word three times in a row and blam... Forbidden.!
This means that you cannot write and tell about a card game, in which you got fleeced last night, an implement for stirring the embers in your fireplace or the pipe shape.?

Now I am going to conduct another experiment.

This is getting curiouser and curiouser.
I wrote some of the foulest words I could think of and no problem.

Now let's see what happens.

Accepted, but p****s. Tsk, tsk, tsk.

:specs:Jesper, the intended purpose is to filter out spam posts, not to censor your language. It's a pain sometimes but it's best to accept it and just work around it.

A most entertaining thread! Lol
Not sure what a 'pussy spammer' is, but I'm intrigued.

Leeds Works Department got a new computer programme many years ago - got scrapped when the plumbers could no longer order ballcocks!

But still. How can a pipe shape/a card game/a fireplace instrument invite spam posts.
I'm asking because I don't know, I'm just curious.

I always thought it was in the same context as the old line, I think from Groucho Marx, "Poke her, I hardly even know her".

I couldn't find it in the "Settings".

Link bait for online gambling sites.

How can the dreaded p-word be a link bait in a post? As far as I know only members can post here.
A link in a text is easily detected even if it doesn't look like a link.

Another thing; it might be a good idea to run this homepage on a secure connection.
I get a warning from Firefox everytime I log on.

White list and Black list are maintained by the server provider. The White list is automatically cleared periodically.
So it does nothing but waste my time white listing. The black list words are chosen by the server provider.

As far as the secure connection issue try reporting to Firefox or use another browser.

That's understandable. Thanks very much for the explanation.

It's not a browser issue; warnings or no warnings, it's still a HTTP - and not a HTTPS server,
i.e. not a secured connection.
I was just suggesting, but nobody has yet nicked my login information, so...

I guess on average we have to resort to banning a member every 2-3 years. However
we ban spammers almost on a daily basis.... which is a fair amount of work.

I thank the Mod team for our record and for the way they operate this forum... Hats off.

Every 2 to 3 years!!! :grouppunch: You rowdy hooligans!!!

Years ago I was an admin on a gaming site...We would monitor the game rooms and boot people for extreme foul language in the game (Halo). At times we would boot or ban 5 or 6 players a day...Biggest thing we got back, "I can say anything I want! I have freedom of speech!"...Yeah, not here, we have kids in the gaming rooms. You don't like the rules, then have a nice day, in another room.
