I think no more than an hour, John.

If for some reason you need something edited John, you can always PM a mod. The exact user timeout...I'm not sure.

I think that you're free to edit your comment as much as you want until someone else comments on the same thread. After that, the comment is locked. At least, that's what I've experienced.

Or you can make a new post referring to the correction. This is good because people who have read the original may not go back to it.
