View Full Version : Reworked a Dr. Plumb St. Hubert Apple - Thanks Dallas!

Last night at the Vancouver Pipe Club meeting drdca (Dallas) gave me an old Dr. Plumb apple that was missing its stem logo and had just the hole in the stem that made noise and sucked air. I cut a piece of red knitting needle that matches the plumb dot on the stem, inserted and glued it in. I cleaned and buffed the stem and took out tooth chatter on top and bottom near the button. I did not like the finish on it at all - lines of striation evenly space from top to bottom and lines length wise on the shank. I decided to rusticate and start over. I rusticated and stained it with a red stain and then re-rusticated it and did a medium brown stain. I left the rim and a ring around the shank and the stamping area on the underside of bowl smooth.
