I was wondering if there are any fellow PSU members who are also members of the PCOL.

The reason I ask is that I've recently found out that the club meets at JJ Fox's in London every second Tuesday of each month and as I'm planning to pop along to their July meeting for the first time to see what it's like, was just wondering if there were any fellow PSU members that either I might expect to see there or who would like to join me for a bowl or two?

A bit of a long shot I know, but is anyone in London tomorrow evening for the meeting?

Attended the Saturday meet yesterday which Im not usually able to get to because of its location. Had an enjoyable time meeting new members and also, industry stalwarts including; Northern Briars, GQ Tobaccos & Samuel Gawith were in attendance with their wares. Came away with some complimentary new tobacco samples which was an unexpected but nice surprise, as well as a generous portion of Clan from a fellow member to whom I mentioned that Ive not tried it before.

Hi,
Looks like a great occasion and a suitable venue.
I hope you enjoy the new tobacco samples.
Not a fan of a Clan myself but it will be interesting to hear your opinion.
Best wishes, Marc

Is that the new place, in St. Albans? Looks a cosy setting, I see John in his leather jacket was there.:checkit: he gets about, he was up in Nottingham the other week. Nice to see you've got samples of the perique flake & square cut. I really enjoyed those two. I'm looking forward to when they get released, was there any talk of when the new blends will hit the shops?

twas very pleasant Marc. Im looking forward to trying all the samples and will let you know my thoughts regarding Clan, but so far, it seems to have a pleasant enough cold aroma with a hint of vanilla.

Just to give your question a answer. I live in Palm Springs CA. and I am also a member of PCOL for just over a year now. I enjoy there magazines and news of their meetings and gatherings. I hope to one day make a meeting in London.

Hello,

there's a Simon on Youtube posting as London Calling with Simon, who has filmed at at least one meeting of the Pipe Club of London, and I found it interesting to watch. All the pipe chat you'd imagine and a raffle as well.

Best wishes
Markus

I used to watch his videos and found them interesting. However since he started pipe making I've become put off as he's more interested in selling his pipes than anything else. His pipes are way overpriced in my opinion and not as good as he makes them out to be.

I don't know who you're on about. I'm hoping to go to the clubs meeting at blakemar briars, next Saturday. If I meet this chap, I'll be sure to convey your thoughts, Crawford. Lol

Many think the same, Simon - he's asking prices after a few months that Chris Askwith took years to achieve.

He's certainly got the gift of the gab so you'll get on well with him. :cheesy:

Dare say I will, even though he sounds a bit of a spiv. Still, make a change. I've been socialising with too many Scotsmen lately & it's affecting me. Today in the supermarket, whilst everyone was fighting over bog rolls, I ended up with two bottles of single malt & a load of tunnocks cakes! What's all that about?

:good:

Do you chat as a group or can you only talk to one other member at a time? Always wondered how it worked.

Just a normal PC with a camera & microphone and details are on the calendar section of their website.

Let me know if you need any additional help at all.

Just chat as a group like you normally would.

I think there is a facility to raise a virtual hand to notify everyone that you wish to speak but we don't bother with that.
