Always wondered which old Brit company supplied the navy's own rations. Should be a bit of fun trying to find out! Wills capstan or players navy cut would be favourite I'd think, but who knows? As long as it's not clan should be a happy sailor!
    Hello,

In 1961, it was apparently BAT that at least some supplied tobacco:

Did anyone here go for the various plugs that were relisted recently? They went for 48 the second time around, just below my original bid amount the first time around, however after losing the bid I spent my budget with PipeDivan so didn't bid the second time.
I looked to see if they'd been relished but couldn't find them. Glad to see somebody got a good deal, just a shame it wasn't one of us boys!

I had to be forcibly restrained from going to work today on account of another painful dental appointment.
With all the free time that ensued, it was inevitable to have a gander on the bay. Bingo!! Came up trumps! Two tins & two packets from the 60s/70s. All sealed & in perfect nic. Co-op mahogany, bensons mellow Virginia, condor & lloyds bondman. Two of these will be sent directly to my mate across the pond. Sorry if I spoiled the surprise for you! Lol. Also 'did the dirty' on a comoy golden arrow pipe. Always wanted one of these. Something to do with watching Ivanhoe as a child I imagine. Got to love the bay on days like these!

Scored another 'strike' on the bay. Got myself a tin I've always wanted, an unopened cutter top tin of 'baby's bottom'.
Didn't think much of the recent dunhill version, looking forward to trying the original.

Nice one jimbo! I've never seen the old 'rough cut'. When I started smoking that had long gone. The old ready rubbed version resembling more of a shag cut. Hopefully it's only been recently opened & the rust hasn't seeped into the tobacco. Please let us know what it's like when you get it.

Thought it was worth the risk as Rough Cut really was a good baccy back in the day.
