    Here's to a new start!

A quick disclaimer - I am not a pipe smoker. I sell my late Grandfather's collection of pipes on eBay.

Pipes lost their shine for me a while ago. I was very interested in knowing everything there was to know about pipes when I was tasked with selling my Grandfather's collection of pipes by my father. I researched and I asked questions. I wanted to know everything about every pipe I picked up. Every single pipe had a story to tell and I wanted to hear it. I took pride in the fact that these pipes; this collection - my Grandfather's collection - ended up with me.

I found out the hard way that everyone has an opinion, and some are very keen on you knowing that opinion. Especially when that opinion drags your name, and in turn, my Grandfather's name through the dirt. I was just a kid with a smile on my face who was hungry for knowledge, but that seemed to have rubbed some people the wrong way. I was essentially run off of another forum because a select few members decided to develop a preconception of who I was and why I was there.

I was directed to these forums with the promise of a chance to feed that hunger for knowledge once more, and I would be delighted if you all would have me. Through my conversations with dmcmtk my interest in my Grandfather's pipes has returned. I am again eager to learn their secrets and hear their stories, and to share those secrets and stories with the members of these forums.

Having already sold a sizeable amount of pipes, I still have thousands pipes left. Most of those pipes are not very special. I have boxes of pipes that don't even have stampings on them. I have more still that are drug store pipes, Sears and Roebuck, and even L. L. Bean. I have boxes of empty pipe boxes, I have unopened cans of pipe tobacco and empty tobacco cans, I have old cigar boxes. I have pipe making tools, I have pipe cleaning tools. I have magazines and books. I even have an old humidor. I do still have rare and old pipes with mystique and intrigue, however, and I'd gladly share everything with you all.

My intentions of joining these forums is to learn and to share. I do eventually plan on offering some items for sale on the forums, and to give some other things away. I am very excited to be excited about pipes again, and I hope I can excite some of you, as well.

Thank you if you took the time to read my novel and I hope to speak to you all soon!

    Chris.

Shameless plug - I'm putting up a pair of Charatans and some Comoys up tonight.

Thanks for the invite to the forums.
