    Pipe Dan

After seeing hawky & piffyr buying Danish pipes by the dozen, & getting away with it! I thought why can't I? So, had a gander on the bay & ended up with a 'pipe Dan'. Unsmoked apparently. Don't know anything about this brand but with a nice craggy blast & tall stacked bowl, looked like a good one.

Good one Simon, congrats! Nice shape with the usual Pipe Dan stack bowl, too. Pipe Dan is a fairly well-known brand and I often see estate "Reformed" pipes around for sale. Here's an article about Pipe Dan from Pipedia.

Cheers russ! since joining this forum, really been enamoured with these old Danish pipes. Unfortunately they're very hard to get hold of. Some bloke called Dave in New York (can't think who that is) seems to get all the pretty ones! Looking forward to seeing if they smoke as good as they look.

First a Brakner, and now a PipeDan; Simon you are on fire! The Shape Reformed, commonly referred to as the "Check Mark" shape. The kicker is the 1261 is not a shape code, it's a date code, December 1961! The pipe looks to be in EXCELLENT condition, WOW!

What a beautiful pipe, Simon. Congratulations.
The Shape Reformed are great looking pipes and I have the one identical to the one shown on p.3 of the catalogue posted above.
Unfortunately with an ugly-looking and ill-fitting newer stem which I intend to replace with an authentic-looking one.

Brakner made beautiful pipes as well.
