    Peterson

I saw a Peterson 201 Rustic but the pipe was not black. It was light to medium brown. It is the first one I have ever seen. Nothing else unusual about it other than the color. Are these rare?

Rare? No. What was the model name? Peterson has only produced a few lines that were purely black. Shades of brown/red are pretty common.

I saw a rare petersons on another forum a couple of years ago. It was an absolute beauty! Canadian 264(?) shape, light tan colour & a very attractive rustication. Petersons Wicklow it was, I think it was a small batch just for America because I've never seen another one.

Seems to me that the lighter ones are around but in the minority compared to the black rusticated lines they have. My take is that produced very few smooth pipes at all. As I've grown older Petes fell out of favour with me. They all seemed hard as a rock and too heavy on my clench. I sadly departed from my last one, a 309 last year.

My only black (apart from the bling) Peterson; a Dublin.
Simon, 264 is right for the Canadians. At least, my two Canadians are both 264s.

Thanks for all of your responses. My first Peterson came in 1986, I really enjoyed English blends in the system pipes. That was the first brown rustic Peterson I had ever seen.
