    Another No Name

Grabbed myself a nice looking chimney off the bay on the weekend.
For a bargain price of six quid, it arrived today & unsmoked as well. Although it's not stamped as a reject, I'm pretty sure it was as the rim is slightly 'off'. No clues as to the maker, unusually it's numbered though. X176 & made in England are it's only markings.

Congrats, Simon. Unsmoked, too! It'll be interesting to find out if it is an Orlik blasted "176". Perhaps a reject?

After all of the statistics and reports are finished with, I've come to the conclusion that the only real danger of smoking a pipe is being interrupted.

Yep. A product from the family-owned era as well. The "X" denotes a sandblasted pipe.

Just thinking out loud here, I wonder if the practice of stamping pipes as rejects has stopped?
All of my pipes that have the reject stamp are only the London made ones. With the demise of tobacconists & closure/relocation of the pipe manufacturers, makes me wonder. None of the online retailers that I've seen seem to stock or sell them. I've got a cadogan era sasieni billiard that has sandpits & fills all over the place, a definate 'reject' but no stamp & sold as perfect.
