Certainly zulus are to be had and I often see them on eBay. However, a GBD pipe is on my "next-to-buy" list and a GBD zulu would be a great addition for my fledgling English pipe collection.

    Hello,

Smoking from a small mix of just several bowlfuls, G&H Brown Flake unscented, Balkan Mixture and Westmorland Slices. The latter has been in the jar for years and has lost much of its characteristic flavouring, but still makes for a nice addition to the mix. The pipe I'm using is a Comoy Tradition bulldog.

Die Beast from the East, as they call it in the UK, is still giving us icy wind, but as there is an uninterrupted land connection to Siberia, we are not yet getting any snow in our part of Germany (a little white may come tomorrow). But the temps are going up hill from here, and on Saturday at the latest we will be solidly above freezing and even stay there overnight, as it seems.

Tomorrow I'm going to Cologne for the monthly pipe meeting.

    Best wishes
    Markus

    Good evening to you all.
First smoke of the evening is going to be McConnell's 'Pure Orient' in a Stanwell no. 08 - Royal Briar.
According to William's Estate Pipes, the 08 came with two stems, this one and a Churchwarden,
long before Stanwell came up with the HCA pipes.

I'm looking forward to trying this tobacco; I've been searching for that distinctive taste and smell
of the Egyptian 'Simon Artz 70L' cigarettes, I sometimes smoked in the sixties, but so far, no luck.

St. Bruno in a Parker super bark.
With all the inclement weather around, forgot today's St. David's day (patron saint of Wales), so happy St. David's day!

    Great-tasting tobacco in a great-looking pipe.

Happy St. David's day to you too.
The 6th of October is St. Bruno's Day.

Actually, there are several St. Brunos, but this one founded the Carthusian Order and seems the most prominent.
Is it known which St. Bruno the tobacco was named after..?

Yesterday was the first time I smoked JKP and started with a meerschaum,
then a morta and now a Basil Meadows cutty.

Good show! What's your preference? I like 'martell's' myself & with the weather we're having, I like mine delivered!
