Thanks Anthony, I too like it
Just now cut the plug, allowing to dry a bit. Hope that should be ok by now. Will go & load it for puffing!
    Best regards,
    Arvind.

Thank you very much, Anthony. It's my first Benner and my first olive pipe, but not my last ones.
I have my sights on another Benner, he had up for sale in our fb-group.
Now I have the money; I hope that he still has the pipe.

    Anthony!

    . . . .these humble, drugstore pipes ...
Does drugstore pipes carried silver (very similar to the markings which they stamp over a silver ring/ornament etc.,) rings over shank too, those days ?
    Best regards,
    Arvind.

Jesper, how are olive pipes ? Or they are just a substitute ?
Btw, that pipe out of olive wood has pretty grains.
    Best regards,
    Arvind.

I only have this one so far; it's a very good smoker and it's not going to be my last one.
No, they are not just substitutes, but great pipes in their own right.

No, not typically. Nickel and aluminum bands are fairly common though. The band on that Thermofilter is an addition that I made as a repair. Actually, the stem is too.
