Hello, Anthony! Greetings of the day!

The band seems to be original to the pipe as it was put when it came out of the lathe. I am cleaning the oxidation over the band. I ll try to capture the band in day light. I ll keep posting a bit later.
    Best regards,
    Arvind.

Dear Marc! Thanks, the first to be smoked was the billiard from George Jensen. I tried that with petersons's perfect plug. Pretty cool smoke it was I should say, as, I used to smoke the same tobacco in another billiard from Jean Claude but, there it was bit hotter It seems the briar is doing its work.

You're welcome, Arvind. As they're second-hands, they should be broken in already.

Time to start working on some pipes, Joe. That should give it some exercise.

Ha, I know what you mean joe, I've been wanting to thin out the herd for awhile now, but done nothing.
Keep telling myself a dozen pipes is more than enough but selling none & buying more. Great crack though!
Lovely to see you back on the forum, hope you're feeling a bit better & starting to get over the worst of it mate.

Oh, I didn't know that. For any new pipes, I just bung the tobacco in and smoke very carefully until a cake has formed.
