    The US Drought Continues

It's been a good many months since SG BBF and FVF have been available here in the States. That goes for Wessex tobaccos, too. Is there a tobacco sourcing issue involved? Is the supply low enough to keep distribution limited to Europe? I think this might be one of the longest times that we US smokers have gone without a restock of SG and Wessex products. Any ideas?

After all of the statistics and reports are finished with, I've come to the conclusion that the only real danger of smoking a pipe is being interrupted.

I'm just thinking that this fine blending company just doesn't have the capacity to be a world-wide supplier on a constant basis. So it comes in waves with limited supply. Their problem is that they make too many great tobaccos but I'm just as sure that if they cut the breadth of their product line there still would be objections even if that made them able to supply constantly.

There are additional hurdles for importers now that the FDA rules are in play. I don't know if that's the reason for the scarcity, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is. I've noticed longer gaps in US availability for many blends made overseas for about a year or so.

Maybe if they increased the price availability would improve?

Russ, which Wessex tobaccos are you looking for...?

Thankful for my modest cellar so I haven't really noticed as I haven't really been looking. Has it been that bad lately? The only thing I'm ready to jump on is more Curly Block. The last time I got the in stock notification email from SPC I passed, probably shouldn't have, haha, but it just didn't fit into my budget at the time.

That said...lately I've been on a burley kick. Maybe I should grab some of that Mac Barren Burley Flake before it goes poof again. SPC has that back now. I've got lots of Wessex in the cellar, but only a few tins of the Burley Slice and I don't see that one anywhere.
