No the stems are fine, I asked Anthony to "tweak" them a little; funnel the tenon, polish the airway, and give them more of a "Danish style" button if possible.

I agree. They are part of the pipe's identity.

After all of the statistics and reports are finished with, I've come to the conclusion that the only real danger of smoking a pipe is being interrupted.

Wonderful additions Dave. I'd let the stem logos live.

They look fine to me Dave but I'm looking forward to seeing them after Anthony does his magic on them.

Yes, but not by me. Removing reducing stem logos is one of the hallmarks of bad restoration work. I don't do bad restoration work or anything that can be mistaken for it.

    My thinking exactly, Herb.

I know you don't. I wasn't thinking of you, when I suggested it.
    Just a general, subtle removal.

I understand, Jesper, but the pipes are currently in my care. So, I'm explaining why I can't do that sort of thing, even though it's what Dave would like. I'm okay with making alterations that would generally be regarded as improvements to the pipe, but removing a logo from a stem or stummel is just reductive. I'm capable of doing so, but I'm not comfortable with it.
