    Found some old clay pipes...

I really wanted to share this with you guys here! I had trouble resizing my pics so that they actually looked good. So, if it's alright with those in charge... I'm going to post a link to another forum I'm a member of where I posted these. It's pretty cool that I've found these and hope to eventually find a smokeable one! (not that I'd smoke it often but, you know, it's a pipe ) Hope y'all enjoy!

there were / are some very intricate clay pipes around. I still remember the time I broke my father's clay.

Clay pipes were around long enough that people will be finding them for another 250 years. Thanks for the pics!

Hey guys, thanks for checking this thread out! I've been away for awhile, I counted inventory in June and I've been scouring the river for more clays. I've found a few more and will post pics tomorrow!

It makes you wonder why there is a larger proportion of the clays by the river...or at least discovered clays...as apposed to clays being found elsewhere in the area. Was it a habit (and I would thing quite a relaxing one) to go down to the riverside and have a relaxing smoke? If I had a river (with actual water in it) around my house, I would gladly take a chair down to the river, take out my pipe, and relax by the water.

Either that, or the wives of the time couldn't stand the smell of the tobacco stinking up their houses and they kicked the old codger outside when he decided to light up...

Yeah, I like the first version better!

So I updated the thread with pics this morning as opposed to the other day. We've been fairly busy at work, which is good for business and for the paycheck... it's just bad for being on the forums.
