Like most people, I keep my tobacco in mason jars. You just can't beat them. Nonetheless, I've bought a few jars over the years. The one on the right is copper with a leather wrap (or maybe faux-leather; I've never really examined it that closely.) I bought it at a pipe show to fill an empty spot at the end of a pipe rack I bought the same day. Probably got both items for under $20. Doesn't seal worth a darn.

The one on the left is my personal favorite, a small burl walnut jar from Decatur that I bought new old stock from my tobacconist a few years ago, again for a song. It had a badly deteriorated rubber seal around the lip of the lid which I removed and replaced with cork. Unfortunately, the wood sucks moisture out of tobacco better than silica gel, so again, I don't really use it other than for storage of random accessories, parts or the occasional small sample baggie.

I'd be happy if one of them were tall enough to store pipe cleaners, but alas...

It's an Italian made jar for comoys. I've seen quite a few with different paintings, all beautiful.

Very cool, Simon! If I could get it to keep tobacco fresh, it would be filled with Squadron Leader for sure.

    Nice looking jars, herb!
Shame about the wooden one. I've got a Decatur glass jar, with a wooden lid. Unusual thing is, on the inside is a round hydration stone, embedded in it. Works too!
    St. Bruno simply satisfies!
