Having said that, if I smoke P-lipped Petes continuously, I do get roughening of the hard plate - but not leukoplakia per se. Now, I rarely smoke more than two Petes in a row.
My lone Pete is a 306 Standard System P-Lip. I will admit I had no idea there were different at the time I bought her. But I've had her about 20 years now and she's a great smoker. She's my Lakeland Heinz 57 pipe.

Good Morning, Gentlemen! It's another relatively cool one here at 73F/22.7 with a clear blue sky and bright sunshine, but the heat will build in soon bringing us another hot day. I set my alarm clock in order to get up earlier than usual in order to make a change in my morning routine and it was immediately turned off at the first beep. So much for the change in my routine. Now smoking a bowl of DDF in the Pete "Rosslare 106", the first mug of coffee on the side.

After all of the statistics and reports are finished with, I've come to the conclusion that the only real danger of smoking a pipe is being interrupted.

Very good, Thomas, but is Sir Krantz perhaps lost/confused?
