It's all about the patent stamp, Russ. US patented One Dots were introduced around 1920 gone by 1925 when they were replaced by the Four Dot. If I recall correctly, they continued on for some time in the European market but I might be mistaken about that. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am.

Sasieni did not sell many pipes in Europe, the production was for USA mainly. Unknown here until the 70ties when a shop took
home a dozen or so in different grades after Alfred left.
Brian in the Peterson shop in Dublin once told me, that they have had them. They were sold to Americans.
