Jesper, you mean the championship pipe was rusticated. You are right, it is written right here " Brakner Antique- verdensmesterpiben" kr 40-------- and I got new glasses og kan ikke se en skid.

I don't understand the last few posts, of course, but I "liked" them anyways.

That reminds me of a British TV program called "The Bletchley Circle" where former code-breakers turned into crime detectives. Maybe we should get them on the case. I really liked the show, by the way, but it didn't last but a handful of episodes here in the States.

Thanks, Jørgen, so my memory isn't shot all to pieces yet. 40 kr... a pretty hefty price in 1955.
Satans med de nye briller; jeg har faaet nye tænder og er nødt til at tage dem ud, hvis jeg skal smage noget som helst.

Of the few brakners I've seen, that one seems quite an unusual shape. I'm Very fond of mine & in particular, the stem. Like yours, original & sans 'snot spot'.
    St. Bruno simply satisfies!

Great pipe, Dave. It deserves to be let out of the vaults.

Are you sure the stem is original? Here's another 812 with an original, green-dotted stem that is similar in shaping, but very different in the details, especially about the button and the delicacy of the turned "flange".

I was of the understanding that the Antique finish was always a part of Brakner lines. Am I mistaken?

Anthony, thats was what Jesper and I were talking about. Somewhere in the 50ties a Brakner rustic antique kr 40 and a Brakner Royal Danois kr 80. A lot of money - it must have been smooth. At the same time a Stanwell de Luxe was kr 32 and it went up to kr 45 in 1965 - trying to date it if you understand
