Yes, the slot and airway driling tell the story. It's the "false" slot with just the airway drilling style. I would also say the SP pipe's stem is more refined in its turned details.

Color me skeptical. Can you show a more detailed photo of the button?

Early on in his career, Brakner made mostly smooth pipes, but later on his micro rustication took over.
I have two smooth Brakners, but I don't know yet, if they are early or later smoothies.

All my Brakners have the mix of the slot and the round orifice, except the Lego Brakner, which has a round orifice only.

Should have bought three dozen assorted Brakner pipes when they were available in large numbers.
Do you want a dozen assorted today the pipe center man sometimes said to me. I like that " assorted"

I'm not sure that I understand correctly, Jesper. Is this the type of design that you're describing?

Outstanding photography, Anthony! I imagine it has to be in your line of work?

That is basically it. Do I still need to take pictures?

Hardly. I took a photography course in college, but only because it was part of the curriculum. It wasn't really my thing. I only did enough to get by and I've forgotten most of it.

Just about everything that I know about photography now is based on trials and errors while shooting pipes. Before I started working on pipes, I hardly ever shot a photo.

You understood it correctly, Anthony. I just didn't know how else to describe it.

Yes, because this is obviously not a Brakner stem, which speaks to my point. I want to see the overall shape of the button. The slot alone isn't enough evidence for a verdict in my opinion.
