    Dating Samual Gawith tins?

Pretty sure I've read comments from others mentioning the production date as seen on tins of SG blends. Just received a couple of tins of St James Flake and have been looking for a date on them but can't seem to find any. Anyone know where it should be or am I imagining it?

I'm sure there is something on here about this but for the love of me can't remember where Crawford, think it has to do with a mathematical formula of existing no's on tin, confusing I know but hope someone can help!

    Cheers Ally...

Thanks for the link Anthony I have the sticker on the tins I got today both with the same five digit code 07 237. However Ally was right it is confusing or I'm just too thick to work it out.....I suspect the latter.

The first two digits correspond directly to the day of the month. So, it can be any number between 01 and 31.

The last three digits increase by one for each month since December 1995. So, the code for December 1995 was "001", January 1996 was "002", February 1996 was "003" and so on.

So, your tin with the code of 07 237 was made on the 7th day of the 237th month since December 1995. That would make it the August 7, 2015.
