Interesting, Ally. I was wondering if or when the clones would come around.

Very, Thomas - reading around it does seem kosher.

Hadn't heard about this, but I hope I like "Royal Island." I have a few tins of Royal Yacht, but not enough. (Is it ever "enough"?)

Also, "The Old Sign." Very creative.

By the way, anyone know what "My Mixture: Barking Road" is supposed to be? ("A mixture of Virginia, dark fired and sun cured tobacco.")

I just looked up the Robert McConnell Heritage tobaccos on Kohlhase & Kopp's website and, sure enough, there they are. I wonder if they're the identical recipie or had to be modified for some reason.

That's the big question. Did they actually purchase the recipe or are these knockoffs based on educated analysis? Not that it's necessarily a bad thing either way. K&K makes some very good blends. So, it's possible that even a K&K knockoff could surpass what was previously on the market under the Dunhill moniker. There's likely to some difference in either case due to differences in sourcing, processing, etc.

However, the big bug in my craw. Russ, is that we'll probably not see this blends for sale in the states unless there's some loophole in the FDA regs that can be exploited. So, for us at least, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
