    Larsen Handicraft De Luxe

A pipe from the golden age, a true Danish chimney. It is what would be listed in the 1961-'62 catalog as shape 105. It is however, looking at the markings particularly the use of HANDICRAFT, an older pipe from the mid to late 1950's, before Larsen set up its in house shop run by Sven Knudsen. I believe a Paul Rasmussen design made at Suhr's Pibemageri for sale at Larsen. It is marked on the bottom Larsen Copenhagen Handicraft De Luxe Made in Denmark. Pipe is 5 1/2" long by 2 3/4" tall. I've included two other Rasmussen pipes from the 1960-'61 catalog (shapes 44 & 45) as well as the image of shape 105 from the 1961-'62 catalog. The pipe came in excellent, and very clean condition. One of those ebay auctions where bad pictures really held the price down.

Acouple of the ebay pictures. All I did to bring up the finish was wipe it with oil.

Nice pipe, Dave. That's definitely not the same blast texture that we've seen on the early 60s Larsens.

Top sleuthing, Dave! But are the seller's pics so poor that they would deter a true aficionado?

Some were slightly out of focus, and believe it or not there wasn't one picture of the entire pipe.

Now that's a stack, vintage and well-bought, too. Congrats, Dave!

    Very nice, Dave!
The pipes 44 & 45, look like my 'Winston'.
