    The Bisley

Another day, another pipe. This ones French, Zut Alors!
I've seen these 'Bisley' pipes crop up on the bay, quite a bit. Always liked the look of the inlay on the shank. Reminds me of the RAF motif/insignia. This unsmoked pipe had a 'buy it now' price of 12.99, so I bought it.

Nice, Simon. Is the inlay on the shank only decorative or does it function as a carburetor?

Nice pipe at a very nice price Simon. I see the eye of a large cod staring at me rather than the RAF roundel though.

Bisley is to do with shooting is it not?

Also, I do believe that it's of the same make as the Old Rarity pipes that I have several of. Also French-made with an identical shank logo...

I know nothing more of the manufacturer, but if they are of the same birth, then I can guarantee that it will be a good smoke. My Old Rarities look a mess, but they perform like nobody's business.

I'm not sure Anthony, as I haven't smoked it yet. I suspect it's some sort of carburettor though, like you say.

I don't know, mate. Be surprised if it is. They don't like shooting, do they? They didn't do any in the war, I know that! Lol.
I do apologise, can't help myself when it comes to the French.

Good looking pipe at a good looking price, too, Simon. Well done, I'd say!
