I do this often as I rarely smoke a fresh bowl all the way through. I noticed Amphora Original does have more flavours if left a fair length of time.

Delayed Gratification Technique. It means that you light up a bowl with both the false light and the true light and after a couple of puffs or so just let it rest for an unspecified amount of time, to be enjoyed later.

I dislike the name DGT, mainly I've never delay gratification, so I propose AGT (Assured Gratification Technique), which I practice often.

The only use I've got for it is to fill a pipe to take with me in the car to smoke later; I find that pipe usually tastes good but, as I haven't lit the pipe, I reckon that isn't really DGT but more likely drying out.

I agree that it doesn't work with many blends, aros are particularly to be avoided yet even then there are exceptions.
When I've tried it in the past, I've left it uncovered in a stand. Maybe, covering the bowl with a cup is the key to whole thing. I'll give it a shot with a couple of blends and report back. Thanks for the advice, Ed.

DGT also provides time for optimum drying of blends that need it, in-bowl of course, with invaluable help from those initial lights. Too long a DGT would be, well, too long, imo. Good fortune attend your endeavor!

It's very seldom I start a pipe and don't finish it but what ever tickles your fancy.
