    Peterson Deluxe English made

The latest addition to the stable a Peterson Deluxe pre republic era but English made.Stamped with a round COM but no shape number.s-l1600 (9).jpgs-l1600 (2).jpg

in the same purchase is a English made grade 3 system pipe with the same COM mark, this one is stamped 362p.Does anyone know about the p after the shape number? I have never seen mention of one in a shape number before

Very fine Petes, Paul. Congrats! They look like the day they were made. Which was when, BTW? My Peterson knowledge is pretty sketchy.

Classic pre-Rep Deluxe Pete - in great nick and with lovely cross-cutting grain markings. Well done Paul!

Well Paul, I have a De Luxe large Dutch bent also Made in England - it should be a 4S - but like yours no shape number is stamped.
I have never seen a 3rd grade in real life, but you can always ask Mark Irwin if he know something about that p.

Not my pipe style Paul but I enjoy seeing your latest acquisitions as they're always shown off to their best.

the round COM stamp was used in Ireland from about 1938-47.It is assumed the changes in English stamps followed the Irish ones,so 1938-47.

I am told the deluxe is an 11s shape. I know Mark Irwin is very knowledgeable about petes but I dont know how to contact him.I will wait until I have the pipes and better photographs of the stampings.
