Another Pre-Rep Pete P-Lip "Flat Grip"

Won this pipe on eBay last night - at 44 bar, a good deal methinks (I bid as high as a 'bullseye').

It may seem strange that I went for this when I am already 4 pipes over my hundred 'limit' but:

    - It is in in fact a replacement for my old Pete Flat Grip that has finally burnt out but was a great clencher and smoker.

    - Judging from the logo and the stampings it has barely been smoked

    - I need more P-lips because of my current tendency to suffer tongue-bite.

    - I thought I would get it for a good price and considering its condition I believe I did.

It also demonstrates that I don't just buy high end pipes!! LOL

Link below, and I would be very happy if a kindly PSU 'adept' wished to pick out a couple of photos for the record.

Thanks, Crawford - the key notes here are the age (1947-1949) and the condition of the pipe. My previous Flat Grip had already been heavily smoked before I got it. This one looks to have been only lightly smoked.

Maybe, Ally, but at this stage I'm wondering if it will need a professional restoration - we'll see!

I certainly will, Joe. I missed my last Flat Grip because it was such a comfortable clench as well as having the (for me) necessary P-lip.

I had been looking for another in good nick, but they don't seem to come up very often.
