    Consolation Comoy?

After the recent fiasco with a Comoy Extraordinaire I hope to derive a modicum of solace from this other Comoy. This one being a Specimen seconds, I don't expect perfection. I'll abide with a small sandpit or two, as long as there are no drill holes clumsily patched up this time, and no rim topping. Different seller anyway, different pipe. This is a Comoy's Selected Straight Grain billiard. I should get it by Saturday. I sure hope it passes inspection then.

Yes, which is reassuring. Price was right anyway. The proof of the pudding, however...

That I goh-rahn-tee! I hope that it won't turn into another clamorous six-page thread. All my morale needs is one more disappointment to have me give up ebay forever. This one I got from a seller who, albeit controversial among collectors (of which I'm not one), has always provided me with excellent pipes and service. So I'm keeping my hopes up.

A fine looking Specimen, Ed. Here's hoping that you get a winner this time around.

Thank you, Russ. USPS has just prognosticated that it will be delivered today, so I'll find out soon enough.

And arrive today it did. I went over it with a jeweler's loupe and I'm satisfied with the pre-sanitizing, pre-smoke condition as received. In short, I like it. (They're reputedly come already sanitized, but a few swabbings with Wild Turkey won't hurt I think.)
