    Peterson's Premier Selection

One from the vault, (re-discovered some nice pipes last night) a Pre-Republic Peterson's Premier Selection shape 69, block letter COM 1947-49. Bought from ebay in 2010~11, when I was first learning about cleaning up pipes; didn't do a half bad job. Back then I was thinking of re-selling it on its way, I'm SO GLAD I didn't! It's a wonderful smoker.

Nice job Dave. What were the stems made from on Pete's of that era?

It's vulcanite, and seems to me to have a more graceful curve than the stems on modern 69's.

A fine looking vintage Pete, I'd say. It doesn't belong anywhere but in your collection, Dave.

Beautiful looking pipe Dave. I did the same thing but with a shotgun. Bought a old Winchester Model 12 many years ago and put it away in my closet and did'nt use it until a couple weeks ago. When I opened up the gun case and took the gun out to clean and oil it I realized that I had a sweet Gem of a collectable in their. The same goes with pipes. We all probably have a long forgotten treasure or two put away in our homes.

I'm GLAD that You found it and wish You the best with your newly aquired pipe.
