A chilly 14c here with a high of only 18c forecast...the sun is trying its best to come out but a layer of high cloud is the problem. A general strike today so I'm not 100% sure if the supermarket will be open to do the weekly shop. The wife has gone off to do her vice consul duty and will report back when she returns. Out here in the sticks I suspect most if not all private business will operate normally as unlike Buenos Aires staff don't rely on public transport to get to work and workers here aren't as militant as those in the capital anyway.

Good Afternoon, Friends! It's still on the chilly side and cloudy here, but at least there's no rainfall right now. The forecast calls for more cloudiness with rain and we won't see the sun until, appropriately enough, Sunday. Back in the workshop with a door open for Grover should he decide to come in and visit. Currently smoking a bowl of Solani #633 flake in the Sav rusticated billiard with a second mugga joe on the tobacco table.

The temperature has risen only 2c to 16c since I last reported so it's definitely a woolly jumper day.

As I'm conserving what little Amphora Virginia I have left I'm currently smoking some Black Mallory....good blend to smoke when it's chilly.

    Hello,

Got home from work, ate, had a much needed nap, and now I'm sitting in the shed with doors wide open. Ill surely beed to close the doors and get the heater going in a while.

On the bus home I got treated to the ongoings in our village centre on the occasion of 1st May. People carrying the maypole somewhere, others standing ready at the beer and food stands, a stage for -I suppose- live music. My sister and brother in law are going there with friends later, and I am happy to be away from it all.

On another forum we got to talk about inherited pipes, so I took a number of my father's pipes to the shed with me and am now smoking from the daily jar in a Vauen apple. Like others, this pipe was mine before it was my father's, but I keep it with my father's other pipes.

    Best wishes
    Markus

Enjoyed a couple of cheese burgers and some home cut fries, and am now smoking HU Directors Cut in a smooth straight Lane era Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. A bottle of Cheerwine made with pure cane sugar is my drink. Watching Mad Dog Russo.

Sorry I wasn't on yesterday, so a happy belated birthday to Thomas, and happy anniversary to Russ. Its raining here now, so I'm being lazy and trying to decide what to smoke. I think I will try Amphora Virginia for the first time ina Dr. Grabow wire carved Starfire.
