    Royal Comoys 80

    Hello,
If any of the Comoy experts could help me out on this one please?
    Stamped Royal Comoys, no apostrophe.
    Made in England football circle.
    London Made, separate stamp.
    Shamrock stamp?

Don't know about the shamrock Don, but that is a really nice, high grade pre-war pipe!

    Thank you Sir.
I kinda like pipes with a bit of a mystery to them!

    From Derek Green at pipedia,

"The Royal has always been a high-grade Comoy, and, pre-WW II, it was the highest standard grade after the Prima was dropped. Priced at $7.50 in 1936"

Another thing, just supposition, but remember the Blue Riband grade came out in either late 1936 or late 1938. Just looking at the beautiful grain on that pipe, one might think it was earlier than the Blue Riband, because otherwise it would have been a Blue Riband!

    Thank you Dave!
The striking grain is what initially grabbed me, but if it is a pre war pipe as well, that is pretty cool!
