Weather's been very good in UK for the last few days but cooled down today.

Glad the week is over - my daughter's horse of 26 years had to be put down on Tuesday and on Wednesday Nigel's guys came to take her away.

Better next week; Markus arrives Friday afternoon and next Sunday we will be at the UK Pipeshow.

A mixture of cold things for dinner - salmon mousse, potted shrimp. sausage roll, pork pie, cheese and bread - optional tomato soup.

Last smoke before eating is Charatan's Royal Escape in a Barling:

Good Afternoon, Friends! It's another Summer day with bright sunshine, a clear sky, breezy, and rather warm here in the neighborhood. Tomorrow we'll return to our regularly scheduled Spring weather. Last night I told my wonderful wife that I'm not accepting chore assignments for today so that I can spend uninterrupted time at the model railroad bench. Just say NO to chores! Both workshop doors are open and Grover is flopped on the floor taking it easy. Now smoking a bowl of Fillmore in the Amorelli with another mugga joe on the tobacco table.

    You're a brave man Russ.

I just do as I'm told.

Hydrated the German Virginia overnight and it's taken on a darker colour already. Itching to shove some in the oven to see what happens but that'll have to wait as we're off to see the mother in law before heading out to the countryside. Having a bowl of Amphora Virginia before we go.

Relaxing after a tasty grilled ham and cheese sandwich and a bowl of New England clam chowder lunch with a bowl of year 2014 Saint James Flake in a smooth straight Lane era Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. Almost time for the Braves-Brewers game.

Good Evening, Gentlemen! It's still warm, but the clouds have taken over the sky and we'll be getting rain here in an hour or so. I spent some time working on my diesel locomotive and have the chassis assembled withe the new geared trucks/bogies in place. I need to fiddle with it some more to get all of the gears to mesh. The Cleveland Indians clobbered the Baltimore Orioles 10-0 in today's game. You go, Cleveland! In the workshop and now finishing up a bowl of OGS in the Amorelli with one last mugga java on the tobacco table.

    Evening chaps.
Feeling rather gutted, after cracking the shank on a lovely old stanwell. One of my favourite smokers.
Consoling myself with back to back bowls of Germains RDF. At least 50 years age difference between these two pipes. A charatan & a tilshead. Possibly made by the same hands of Mr. Barry Jones.

Back home and had a bowl of McClelland Christmas Cheer 2017 in a 1980 Stanwell 668 medium bend with a multi-colored ferrule, half black sandblasted, half brown smooth, rough top with a black vulcanite stem. Deciding on the next smoke.
