    Hello,

I'm a bit late for no good reason, just have been out and about during the dasy and tired in the evening. It's been a good show again where everyone who wanted should have found something to buy and someone to chat with. I was particularly pleased to meet Simon, it was completely unexpected.

I came away with two Blakemars, a squat bulldog and a rhodesian, as well as a Peterson 150 bulldog. Also got the G&H Perique square cut, and also the Balkan Flake as sample. I've had a small bowl of the square cut so far, but only in the next morning's windy weather outside the hotel. Not bad even then, but I'll reserve judgement for the review till I had a chance to smoke the samples back at home.

After the show I stayed in Nottingham for a night and then travelled to Newcastle the next day. The weather is slightly on the wet and cold side, but there is still enough opportunity to be outside and see something.

This morning I was in Durham and bought some tobacco at the pipe shop in the indoor market, then sat by the river till a heavy shower drove me away. Back in Newcastle I sat in the lounge of the Cuban Cigar Club. The next two days, all I have left before returning home on Friday,, will be warmer and a bit drier. Will be seeing places in Newcastle tomorrow and go to the sea on Thursday.

    Best wishes
    Markus

I wonder if they'll go ahead with this years show? I know it sounds highly unlikely, but if they open up the pubs at the end of the month, it could be possible I suppose. Anybody heard anything about it?

Already cancelled, Simon - to be re-scheduled later.

    From Tom Kirbright in April:

"As Iím sure youíre aware, the government has extended the lockdown by at least another 3 weeks and itís possible it will be extended further still.
The knock on effect of this means that my job, like many others, will likely be affected and things that should be happening in spring time will now be rescheduled for the summer.
As a result we have taken the decision to postpone the 2020 Pipe Show.
Itís not an action that we have taken lightly but things being what they are and public safety being at everyoneís primary focus, itís the right call to make.
At the moment we donít when the revised date will be or if we will be better to roll it over until next year, but if we can manage to be pushed to September or something like that then that is what we will work toward where feasible.
Hope to see you all soon when this madness ends.
Stay safe and let me know if you have any questions.
    Thanks,"

    Hello Jimbo,

Thank you very much for this nice pictures. They really sign the atmosphere on that show.

    I have a question.

Can you tell me who is the maker of the pipes on the picture below?

I really like the ones with the turquoise stem ( mouthpiece) and I should like to contact the maker of that pipes.

    Sincere regards,

    Huub
