    Old England Woodstock

Hey folks. Not long ago I procured an Old England smooth Woodstock for $5 on ebay. It seemed to be in pretty rough shape, but intact. Here's how it looked then (seller's photos):

I sent it off to Mike Myers at Walker Pipe Repair, who as usual did wonderful work. Just came back today. I couldn't be more pleased, and looking forward to smoking it. I'm particularly happy about how the chamfered rim came back. [Dave, help on the shape #? There's no number on it. The closest I can find on a Sasieni shape chart is a 39A (Felsted), but this bowl and shank seem narrower.]

The pipe came out wonderful, Nathaniel. Congrats!

The shape number, that's what I was wondering. It's an older shape. From the 1930's catalog...the Eton? The Devonport? Did the stem have any hardware?

There is definitely a shape number. I can see a 6... I'm favoring the Devonport shape.

No stem hardware to speak of, and no OE shield either (buffed off?). From those photos you posted, Dave, definitely looks much more like an Eton than a Devonport -- the mellower bend of the stem, and the more gradually canted angle of the Eton's bowl, instead of the harder Dublinesque angle of the Devonport.
So potentially an old one, eh?

Oh man! I feel like a turkey. I just found the shape number. It's 96, clear as day. How did I miss that?
So where does that point me, Dave?

I'm still favoring the Devonport, going by the shaping of the shank, or some variation thereof. Shape 96...

Could be the the Eton/Cambridge...note what it says about a "flat oval" shank. The shapes weren't exactly set in stone, esp. in regards to stems. Some results from my image search,

I think what you have found is, what will be a great smoking pipe!

Yeah, flat oval for sure. That makes it a Woodstock, correct? Rather than a yachtsman?
Going to try it out this a.m. with some Skiff.
