Back to the chilly mornings again....7c but at least there is some sun and blue sky about.

Was going to finish a bowl of Argento Black I have kicking about however it's not an ideal smoke for this time of the day. So I shall load a bowl with some Barsdorf's Virginia instead...a pleasant smoke to kick the day off with.

Having a bowl of Image Virginia in the Gordon. This blend is tasting much better since I hydrated it.

    Hello,

This tobacco is packaged more dry than other tobacco because it is made without additives and might otherwise catch mould. At least that's what I remember reading on a pouch of it when I had it. The text also recommends hydrating the tobacco. I don't know if the Perique and Latakia versions are still available, I enjoyed those, too, but it may be ten years or more since I had either version. The pouch holds 40g, but it might well be the amount of a regular 50g pouch minus the water.

EDIT: I've just seen in the latest Planta catalogue that they only have Image Virginia now. For the cataloge, follow the link and click on the red word "hier" (here). Descriptions are in German and English.

    End of EDIT

Today was the first day of the team meeting, and it went quite well, not too exhausting, bringing some results, and good coffee and food were had.

Smoking from the daily jar in a Peterson Kildare 106s.

    Best wishes
    Markus

Relaxing after a wonderful shepard's pie lunch, and am now smoking early 1970s MacBaren Burley London Blend in a smooth medium bend 2011 Rinaldo Collection Fiammata Silver Line 7 Odea 04 flame grain bulldog with a silver band and a tortoise shell acrylic saddle stem. A bottle of Virgil's Root Beer made with pure cane sugar is my drink. Watching Mad Dog Russo.
