    Mahi Madness 2019

Had a great conversation with my brother last Thursday, and got the full inshore/offshore fishing report. He had great success offshore this year with Mahi Mahi. These fish were caught over the Sept. 7-8 weekend, all on a fly rod, either 8 weight, or 9 weight for the bigger fish, like these. Roughly 12-15 miles off Long Island's East End, Montauk, in a Mako 17.

Gorgeous fish and very tasty! I'm insanely envious.
I can resist anything but temptation.

He actually brought a couple home to Conn. that were too deeply hooked. The bag (were you can still see unmelted ice hours later) is for transporting freshly caught tuna. As someone who bought Mahi from vendors for restaurants, fresh caught like these are better by far!
