    Help Required re Gourd Calabash

    I am awaiting delivery of an estate Gourd Calabash and require advice on cleaning up the gourd and meerschaum insert.Also ongoing maintenance

    Paul, I can't really give too much advice, as I've never done it. The only thing I can throw out there for cleaning up the rim/exterior of the Meer is carefully wet sanding with very fine paper...600-1500-2000?

    i guess i can ream back any excess cake the same way too.although from the picture it doesnt look too bad.
    Once i get it i can better assess the condition of inside the gourd etc
