High temperture forecasts range from 88-92/31-33.
Not the October weather the Three Friars remember from their youth.
I can resist anything but temptation.

Waters higher than ever this morning and overspilled or burst banks in several places ; been out to meet Councillors, MP, Flood Wardens and Environment Agency Engineers. Jeep came in handy but no damage to houses.

No kidding, we broke a record high temp the other day and the forecast says we're going to blow past another one today. Global warming is real. The good news is I think we'll get past this latest heat wave Thursday and I'll switch off the A/C and open up some windows. Hopefully we won't be switching from A/C to the furnace anytime soon.

Reminds me of the great flood of '93. Maybe trade the Jeep for a bass boat, hang in there.

Building on floodplains partly to blame Jim?

We had a few big thunderstorms during the night. Thankfully the heavy downpours were shortlived. As forecast much cooler weather has arrived this morning so a good day for the pipe. First off is some Amphora Virginia.

Good Morning, Gentlemen, and Welcome to October! It's 67F/19.4C, clear, and the sun is shining. Like Rockbass mentioned, today will be hot as summer makes one last stand here in Ohio and, afterwards, the temperature will become more seasonal near the end of the week. My cellar, the bottom of drawer of my dresser, was completely filled so I took out some two year old FVF, BBF, and a 100g tin of McClelland's #25 VA Flake that I put up in October a few years ago as well. The #25 was made from aged VA and red VA leaf; this is my first and only tin of #25 and now I wish that I smoked it while it was still available. I'm sipping it now in the James Upshall Dublin and is just fabulous....mellow with a bit of sweetness. A mug of fresh coffee is on the tobacco table.
