Just passing the quarter mark on this bowl of Mystery Blend in an undated smooth straight medium brown made in France Lord Clerit lumberman with a “Saillard” stamped on the left side of black vulcanite saddle stem. Anybody know the maker of the pipe and/or the stem? The friend who sent me the tobacco couldn’t remember what it was or where he bought it. I dunno either.

Just figured out that this blend is Peretti Blend D-9507. One mystery solved!

Hello, never heard of it but Pipephil says it's rather rare (in French): http://www.pipephil.eu/logos/fr/logo-s2.html#saillard , althoigh he might just mran the horn stem to be rare.

And now back to the scheduled programming: I came home from work today to find the fence completed, just as I had expected and hoped it to turn out. Enough protection from neighbourly views, but still enough gaps to avoid the impression of the Berlin wall or the wall between catholic and protestant parts of Belfast that I was reminded of when I saw some fences while shopping for mine. It's wood plastic compound (WPC) but looks closely natural enough to fit in my little wood of yew trees.

I'm about to finish a bowl of Brown Clunee in an Askwith hand-finished bulldog.
