Not my style of pipe I have to say but it does indeed look good.
I would agree with you - I picked up this one up while looking for a 1909 hallmarked pipe. Obviously I know nothing about this style.

I just finished cleaning it up: Fitz on the silver, Ren wax on the bowl, B&A polishes and balm on the stem. Then smoked a bowl of Sutliff Sweet VA 708. I gotta tell you - this things smokes wondefully!

Well, I had successfully uploaded a photo of this pipe, but now it says 'invalid attachment'. So one more try

Scott, I fixed it, the software can be quirky, it always works in Go Advanced mode. From the toolbar in Quick Reply, no. Don't ask me why.

    Pipe looks great!

Thanks! I'm a retired IT guy, so I get it and will remember your advice :).

I just finished my bowl of Sutliff 707. I did some more research and discussed with Steve Laug (rebornpipes), after finding he had restored one just like mine. He believes that the 'scum' BBB was lining such pipes with was probably clay, and it smokes cool and clean like a clay pipe. In any case, BBB did not use asbestos or meerschaum.

That's one fine BBB, Scott. Do you know how old it is?
