Very nice Simon. Nice ring grain blast, nice stain, nice brindle stem, and I like the smooth rim. Nice all around!

Elegant simplicity is definitely you Simon. Decently priced pipe.

Congrats, Simon, that's one fine looking pipe! I really like the blast and the forward-canted bowl as well.

    Hello,

    COongratulations, Simon!

I haven't bought a Vauen new yet, but won't rule it out. The several estates I have had have smoked well, and after some aberrations on aesthetics ten years ago or so ( https://www.pfeifenwelt24.de/pipeline-vauen.html ) They have gone back to more traditional looks again.

    Best wishes
    Markus

Thankyou Chaps for the kind comments, glad you all like it. Happy to report that it's smoking very well indeed.

    Hello Markus.
I've just been looking at their vast range of shapes & models. Like you say many 'traditional' shapes but I'm drawn to their Caro & Leta shapes, very different. Reminds me of the 'Art Deco' from the late 1930's. Never really noticed Vauen before, here in England anyway. As you know it's mainly English & Irish pipes here still, with the French & Italians bringing up the rear.
