Today with the bus to The Danish Pipe Shop or as near as I could come. Overlooked a busstop on the way home so I walked, maybe that was good for my health. Went into the cloth shop to get my trousers. I was thinking of buying a shirt but there were a costumer at my age -looked as a non smoker and behaved as one, very very very slow, so I left.
Tobacco: 3 x 100 g Solent, 7 x 50g Navy Flake, 1 x 100g Golden Blend then sold out new on Wednesday and 2 x 50g St Bruno Flake. I first found out that we could get St Bruno when Simon send me some.
All those are from Mac Baren. Years ago Mac Baren was a bad word among hovski - snovski ( with the nose in the sky ) pipe smokers here.
Only tobacco from England and Ireland could be smoked !

Thank goodness MacBaren produce the Amphora range or I might have had my nose in the air Jorgen. Up until that became available most if not all McB blends even in the specialist tobacco shops here were of the heavily cased aromatics type. In fact, I didn't know they produced flakes never mind non aromatic blends until I read your posts on the forum.

No Crawford, hovski - snovski is the last, one could say about you. In the early sixties men who went on outdoors work smoked Everton, Singleton or Fraser honest non aromatic tobaccos at 3,50 for 50 grams. Then came Mac Barens in the same price level and especially Mixture took a big part of the market.
We, working in an office smoked tobacco in tins from England at 6.00 or more for 50 grams and we could not stand the Mac Baren taste or Danish tobacco in general.
Well, later in life I returned to Everton, Singleton & Fraser with pleasure so I am no longer a hovski snovski man.

Received samples from a couple of friends: 1970s VaPer Three Nuns, 2004 Buckland Curlies, 2003 McClelland 2015, and four ounces of Watch City Off the Rails.

Got samples of Watch City Original Crumb Cut, Rhythm & Blues, Off the Rails, and a revised version of Simply VaPer. Also, a sample of Roads Diverged home brew, a gift box of Erik Stokkebye Small Batch Aged Virginia, and a Don Warren freehand pipe.

Because of some BBF being available, I put my monthly tobacco order in a few weeks earlier. I was too late for the 250g boxes, but did snag a few tins. Today I'll get the following:

    150g BBF
    100g GLP Fillmore
150g MacB HH Pure VA Flake
    100g Solani VA Flake
    100g Amphora VA Flake

And pipe cleaners for stock. I'll leave the fresh stuff unopened until I smoke down what I have right now.
