I know the buffer with Tripoli, White Diamond and Carnuba can do for a pipe, amazing stuff.!!!!!
I am using Paragon on the smooth pipes and Halcyon II Wax on the rusticated or carved pipes.
Great stuff, I use either an old cotton sock and/or a microfiber cloth and a lot of elbow grease.
I can totally understand buffing everything in site with the nice set up, I would be doing the same. LOL!!!!
Like I had said , one day.
I'm more concerned with the deep scratches that are on some of the estate pipes I have.
How someone can do that sort of thing to a otherwise lovely pipe, just makes my blood boil.
You know you love pipes when things like that really get your knickers in a knot. LOL!!!!
I just get pissed that someone can abuse lovely pipes. I have had bowls that I would have been lucky to get a pencil through the middle hole left in the mounds of cake.
Let alone the deep scratch marks left around the rim by some huge weapon like instrument used for the cake.
    Rant over, that felt good.
Magic erasers are great for the rims.

There are some great tips here. I'm just starting out and have a few of these things. Is white Diamond available in the UK?

Thanks. I've been looking for something like this for a long time!
"The fact is, squire, the moment a man takes to a pipe, he becomes a philosopher. It's the poor man's friend; it calms the mind, soothes the temper, and makes a man patient under difficulties. It has made more good men, good husbands, kind masters, indulgent fathers, than any other blessed thing on this universal earth."

I got this mushroom buff for my drill at Harbor Freight. It's cotton and works great on things that the buffer can't be used on or if you don't have one; I used it to buff off everything before I had a buffer.
