    Thanks. May have to make that a project if it ever warms up here. I think the whole tissue filter is pretty cool and cheap. So is your bowl like a Kirsten?

    Yes the bowl is a lot like a Kirsten, Comet, or Bryson bowl.

    Just ordered the aluminum end caps and the hole-through screw for the bowl. I already have the tubing. Going to buy a Kirsten bowl. Just need to figure out how to fasten a stem.

    Maybe you could insert heated stem through hole then push down to expand stem in hole? Hope that makes sense.

    Yes that makes complete sense. Will follow up when my caps show up and the bowl. Just ordered that to.

    I was at JB Hayes yesterday in VA, looking thru an 800 pipe estate collection. I found one of those Brial pipes. I google the name and this thread came up.
    This one had the center wire, which I suspect was there to hold some sort of filter media. I grabbed a couple of Falcons. I'm sure the Brial will still be there on my next visit if anyone is interested.
