    Dr. Grabow Hillcrest

I began collecting the Hillcrest line of Grabow, because my very first pipe was a Hillcrest. There are about a dozen bowl shapes, so not too large of a collection. If you happen to have a Hillcrest and would like to make a trade (or sell), Coastie, HolyMolar, Ol Gto, Ozark Southpaw, Kevin Keith and a number of other guys will vouch for me regarding trades, gifts, etc.

I can't say I have even heard of the Hillcrest line. But I will keep my eye out for them. Are they as rare as the Emperor ones?

I've been looking for any Dr Grabow's Hillcrest for you every time I go to the flea markets.
But I haven't found any yet. I'll keep looking. I'm sure I'll find one eventually.

Brian...Grabow collectors would say no. The Emperor line was made using a more premium grade of briar. Hillcrest were made later as well - late 70's to early 80's. They did come in several pretty cool shapes.

Guys...just pinging y'all again on this one. I may be the only Grabow 'Hillcrest' collector you know, but if you find one that I need and let me know, I'll do my best to make it worth your while!

Several months late, but here are several Hillcrest. Certainly not one of Grabows top lines, they created Hillcrest essentially to use up larger blocks which were not utilized for most of their standard shapes, and also, blocks with pits which were easily remedied with the heavy rustication. At first, they came only in rustic. Customers were buying them, so they added smooth as well. These were made from the mid 80's until the early 90's.
