No whisky tonight though, this is going down lovely, might even have a glass with leftover steak pie.

"Steak pie" is a bit of a sore point here, Ally. Ours is now in the M-I-L's freezer.

Pauline has a virus that she didn't want to pass on to her dad (I reckon one more significant chest infection would see him off). They had picked up the pies from Peebles, as planned, but now our New Year steak pie & mash (& beans!) will have to wait.

Particularly enjoying this, after three 'dry' nights. It will be a perfect match with the steak later.

It is an entry-level wine from a good Domaine - but in an outstanding vintage for the southern Rhone. With 12 years on it, it is a lovely drop.

Noticed that the in-house wine cabinet was looking a bit bare after the hols, so just ordered another shipment from HQ:

Red: 2 cases entry-level CNdP (top vintage) and a case of Brunello di Montalcino (2006)

White: 1 case Pouilly Fuisse, 1 case Chablis, 1 case Macon (Guffens) - all 2015

To be delivered a week today

Mind your back! I had 3 cases delivered Monday and am still suffering (from putting them away - not from drinking them).
