Fancied a cigar instead of a pipe after my Sunday roast. Romeo & Juliet No. 3 hitting the spot.

By 5 pm yesterday, I had submitted all the paperwork for restarting regular research in the Institute - formal sign-off (i.e. the effin buck stops here!); Policy; safety rules; instructions for the electronic entry/exit/safety system; what to do in every foreseeable emergency. It all seems watertight, but in the famous words of a German general:

"No battle plan survives the first contact with the enemy."

Nevertheless, I thought I deserved a wee reward. So, after dinner, I smoked the first of my six tubed robustos. I have decided to smoke them in order of increasing nic-strength. The last will be the Partagas; the first was this Hoyo...a lovely smoke - rich and tasty and light on the nicotine.

Had my first 'Toscano' last night.......Superb! Paired very nicely with a speyside single malt, these cigars warrant further attention.

Very good - and being Kentucky tobacco - very different.

Italians cut them in half to share with a friend (according to Chris).
Work is the curse of the smoking classes

I see you can get shorter ones 'Toscanellos' along with quite a variety of different strengths & flavours. Look forward to trying them out, although these 'Anticos' will take some beating.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it Simon.
The Argy produced Toscano Avanti ones are really nice as well. As mentioned by Jim it's normal to cut them in half... and of course with me being so tight fisted I always do.

A box of 50 is 40. Probably cheaper if you shop around.

Bargain! They're about 30 over here for a pack of five, which is taking the piss really as in Germany they're only 10.

The brand you got are dearer right enough. Still much cheaper than U K prices. I just buy the Argy ones though whenever I go into Buenos Aires.
