    Dr Plumb Peacemaker Facelift

A few weeks ago Astrid generously sent me a Dr Plumb Peacemaker, a pipe I've long admired and desired. She also sent along a nice care package of tastiness I've been enjoying but that's another story

I've been working on giving it a facelift, off and on, for the last two weeks. I fixed the large fill and topped and refinished the bowl, polished the metal frame, and filled a large tooth dent (or 2, I can't recall) before polishing up the stem to a fair degree; I did miss some scratches on the stem and bowl so I may re-do this one in the future but I was really wanting to try this one out (and I love how it smokes!) and used it as a project for my helper after school today: Connor, my 5-year old grandson.

It also needs a proper wax/buff job; I let him help using Halcyon II.

Many thanks, Astrid, for your kindness and generosity!!

Nicely done Greg... both the work and training another generation of Pipe refurbishers.

Thank you all. Connor liked it, like most of us men, because it's shiny! ;) I think it suits me rather well and intend on using it as a traveling pipe; hopefully I'll be able to find another bowl that fits it.

So far I haven't been able to tune into the beauty of metal pipes, but pm above is an exception. Both the detail on the shank and the single cutaway stem are very nice.

I always liked the look of the Peacemakers. There is something very stylish in their looks.
