Holding down Fort Cob here and I just lit a bowl of Shop Mix in the MM Washington. It looks like the time has come to dump the hot coals from the starter chimneys into the coal bed and get the vents adjusted for long, slow-cooked BBQ chicken.

Good morning PSU. Wessex Campaign Dark Flake - aged 5 years in my cellar - in a Charles Towne Cobbler with my Morning Joe along for the ride.

I hope everyone is well and good. Everyone here in the corn field is fine and dandy, just busy which has become the norm again. Soon, we'll be trading in the corn fields here in the heart land for the mountains of Colorado. Are we there yet?

I've done some fishing up the pass from Colorado Springs; beautiful country! You'll miss the humidity.

    Good luck with the move!

Colorado Springs is where we want to ultimately end up. But we have to find a place that's affordable first. We are on a list for a prospective place in Manitou Springs, which is just a little west of Colorado Springs. For starters though we're going to be south of there, closer to Colorado City. We won't be making the move until after the 1st of the year and it may be closer to Spring depending on how the son's school work comes along.

Humidity, yeah, won't miss that. I took Amtrak out to Trinidad last month. As an ex RR employee I got a nice discount on the trip but I'll never do that again. As for why, that's another story, but when I got out there and got to my motel room I noticed I had a window AC that was shut off and the window in the room was open. It was in the mid 80's but zero humidity made for some really pleasant weather.

No pipe for me this morning as I have a doc appointment soon. I'll make up for it later.
