    New Meer

Just picked this up I know nothing about Meerschaum, how do they feel plasticity or stone like? This one is really light weight. How do you clean them there is some charring on the top of the bowl stem I will put in some oxyclean to clean it. Any help and information would be great.

Great looking meerschaum, Where to start, well it is still a pipe but a more delicate one. Don't ghost to any tobacco (hearsay) and don't need to be broken in (true).

    Then this link ....much detail.

I and my Lakelands will argue with you about that ghosting thing, Bill.

Meerschaums aka "the aristocrat of pipes". The best are made from block meerschaum and they may feel plasticity as you say, as part of their making is a dipping in beeswax.
